For a Beninese child’s first ordinary passport at a Cotonou appointment, the 2026 catalogue requests two 35 × 45 mm prints; the booking portal still lists one, so confirm copies at booking. Follow ICAO standards and the portal’s white-background rule: a recent photo within six months, even lighting, clear front view, visible eyes, closed mouth and neutral expression. Show only the child with head and upper shoulders visible; the face should occupy 70–80% of the image. Use quality photographic paper. Bring the certified parental authorisation and parent or guardian identification, and follow attendance and accompanying-adult instructions. This format does not cover adult applications, renewals, overseas missions or online photo uploads.
35 × 45 mm printed photo · two copies on a 6 × 4 inch sheet. Not a digital application upload.
Supported photos
Phone or camera photos are welcome. Choose a clear, recent portrait of one person, facing the camera with the whole head visible.
One still image, up to 10 MB and 24 megapixels, with each side up to 12,000 pixels. GIF, TIFF, PDF, animations and multi-image files are not supported.
Use a sharp, unedited portrait with the required real background. With your consent, we send a JPEG copy of up to 8 megapixels for processing. Your original stays unchanged.
