Visas by destination · South Africa
Find your South Africa visa route.
Start with your trip, your passport and where you’ll apply. Get official application guidance for the United States or India.
Use Home Affairs to distinguish visa exemption, ETA and a consular visitor application. Wayform provides free guidance and does not determine eligibility, capture biometrics or submit applications.
Step 1 of 3
What brings you to South Africa?
Check the current nationality and passport exemption list first. A U.S. residence permit is not a U.S. passport. The ETA route also depends on your passport, age and arrival airport.
Your selections and checklist stay on this page only. They are not saved or included in analytics, and are not sent to an authority or submission centre.
One destination. Local instructions.
The live ETA guidance is broader than its original four-country launch and allows applications from abroad. Visa-exempt travellers can still use the normal entry process. Paper submission depends on residence: U.S. missions have separate jurisdictions; India’s High Commission appoints VFS and distinguishes the New Delhi and Mumbai regions.
The official authority supplies the requirements for your situation. This guide does not replace its instructions or confirm that any independently prepared PDF is accepted.
